Graduate Practicum Intern
Life can be difficult sometimes, as no one is immune to life’s challenges. We all face situations that catch us off guard—challenges that may seem insurmountable at times. Sometimes it is difficult to confide in the people who are closest to us, and yet we all need to communicate about the things in life that bring up feelings of deep discomfort. Sometimes these shows up through anxiety, fear, depression, anger, and sadness. I want you to know that you do not have to face these challenges alone.
Although looking for support may be scary, confusing, or even overwhelming, you have bravely taken a very important first step by exploring this website. I trust that you will find a safe space here, that is non-judgmental, client-centered and nurturing. A space where you can talk freely, laugh, cry and be your authentic self.
I believe you are the expert on your life and deserve a therapist who will listen with attention and partner with you, while you explore your feelings, grow at your own pace, and choose the best path to enrich your life. Sharlene Yuille is a graduate practicum intern working toward her Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York in Brockport, NY. She has a background as a classroom teacher and coordinator/administrator of public education programs, including adult education, cultural immersion, and academic internship programs. She is a native speaker of English and is fluent and both Spanish and French. She enjoys spending time off with her husband, daughter, and their dog Kevin. She also enjoys, reading, cooking, watching movies and taking Latin dance classes.
