First off, does escaping to the mountains or a secluded beach sound refreshing? Or maybe you need something more intense like going off the grid to Costa Rica or Alaska? It may feel as though it is your only option to take a break from the current chaos that surrounds you daily. Let's visualize it for a moment, crisp dew lining the leaves and the windy breeze on your cheeks or the sand between your toes.
Therapy is not running away to the mountains or a secluded beach or even Costa Rica. However, therapy can offer you a way to manage your past, present, and future concerns which can help create an environment that you can find peace in. Together we can dive into areas of your life that need to be explored at your own pace. These areas can include recognizing and managing anxiety and/or depressive symptoms, traumatic events, unhealthy relationships, adjusting to unseen circumstances, and learning to let go of things that no longer serve you. I hope that as we work together, you will learn to challenge yourself to reach goals in different areas of your life, and the uncomfortable things you dread you start to look forward to. Let's leave the chafing and bugs for another time.
