Are you a parent looking and searching for answers? Do you have a child or teen that is struggling and it seems that no matter what you do, it isn’t enough? Being a parent and facing these concerns can not only be stressful and overwhelming, but also frightening.
It is my passion and calling to work with children and teens of all ages. As I work with you and your child or teen, we will focus together on overcoming the struggles and obstacles that you’re all experiencing. In counseling, connection and trust are key when working with children and teens. I know how difficult it is for anyone to trust and open up to others. In the first meeting, I like to get to know the child or teen, and then we see each other individually while also incorporating a monthly family meeting where we can all work together as a whole unit.
Some parents worry that nothing is getting done in counseling. I want you to know that when I meet with children and teens, we learn experiences that work while also incorporating activities that play to their interests. We create goals together, and learn various skills that not only harness the strengths of your child or teen, but also address the struggles they’re facing.
For the child or teen thinking of counseling, I want to listen to what you have to say and be a support for you as you go through the hardships of life. Whether we talk about Anime or video games, or even draw while talking about the pressures from school and family, I want us to work together where we can face what it is you are going through.
Since school and extracurricular activities can interfere with scheduling, my availability is open for early hour, during the day, and late evening appointments. If you have any questions, concerns, or are interested in working with me, please call and schedule an appointment.
