Have there been times where you felt anxious and overwhelmed? Do you struggle with understanding and processing your emotions? Do you feel stuck and unable to navigate parenthood? Do you feel lost while trying to relate or understand your child? You are not alone and I am here to help.
Working with children and families is my passion. I am drawn to an integrative counseling approach that is specifically tailored to my client. I strive to keep my approach warm, open and inviting. Building trust and a non-judgemental space are my top priorities when getting to know new clients of any age. When working with children, it is very important to take those early sessions to work on building that trusting environment. It is my belief that to experience any lasting change, especially with children, the family and support system need to be included periodically. It is important to me for caregivers to understand what is going on in the counseling environment. I would like to be able to work with parents, collaboratively, to best help your child.
I have experience working with couples, families, adults, teens and children. I have worked with children in the early intervention field that have had developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, language impairment disorders and/or other behavioral challenges. I am comfortable using visual supports and alternative communication devices for children who may need to
utilize those tools. I have worked with parents and families that were dealing with challenging behaviors at home or in the school environment. I believe that your mental health as a parent and caregiver is equally as important as your child’s mental health.I have experience and equally enjoy working with teens, and adults. I believe that through a collaborative counseling relationship, we can work together to accomplish attainable goals one step at a time. I look forward to working with you in the future and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
