Are you feeling overwhelmed, like your mind is betraying you? Like you’re having trouble focusing on the simplest things and are barely holding it together? Does it feel a little bit like you’ve lost yourself & can’t figure out how to get back to who you were? Are your loved ones treating you differently or telling you to go talk to someone? Does it feel really scary to consider getting a therapist?
You’re not alone.
I have worked with people from all walks of life who find themselves having difficulty getting up in the morning or leaving the house. I know how hard it can be to consider asking for help. Seeking help takes courage: asking for help is not an easy thing to do.
We are often burdened with a sense of shame, frustration, and guilt that can make us feel paralyzed, as though we’re stuck where we are. I’m here to help you through that. A big part of our work together will focus on learning to forgive yourself and to meet yourself where you’re at. My approach is friendly, warm, respectful, and nonjudgmental while my sense of humor helps clients feel at ease. I strive to make each client feel as though they are in a safe place throughout the course of our time together. I am here to provide support and insight, as well as to empower you to meet your goals and achieve your potential. My specialty is in shaping my training and experience to meet your individual needs so that you are getting the maximum benefit from our time together. I respect that you are the expert on yourself: you know your history, social situation, and strengths better than anyone else. We will work together to blend my experience and your knowledge of yourself to help you get to where you want to be.
I am a licensed mental health counselor in the states of FL & MA with experience in working with a wide range of populations including schools, prison, psychiatric hospitals, community mental health centers, and online therapy. I have worked with ages spanning generations, from ages 10 through 79, and who have a wide range of diagnoses, from anxiety and depression to schizophrenia, substance abuse, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder. My clinical approach primarily employs tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. More important than any of that is my ability to let my clients feel heard, supported, and safe. It’s not often we get to take a break from the chaos of day-to-day life and put ourselves first. It’s what I’m here to help you do.
