Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, Intern in Play Therapy
“Two roads diverged in a wood and I- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference”
– Robert Frost
Does this sound like where you are in life right now? Maybe your life doesn’t look how you want it to and you are struggling to get through each day. You have reached the place where you are faced with an incredibly difficult decision: do I reach out for help, or do I stay where I am and hope for the best? I understand choosing to get help is not an easy decision – that is why it is the road less traveled by. But I am here to tell you, congratulations. Just by reading this, you have already taken the first step towards healing and you should be very proud of yourself. Let me help you keep going. Whether this is your first time seeking professional counseling, or you have taken this road before, you will find with me a welcoming, warm environment to pursue your goals in. My techniques are person-centered (because you are the expert on your life) and are made unique to your needs.
I graduated with a Master of Social Work from Florida State University. My clinical approach includes elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and more, all from a holistic approach. Though I have worked with all ages and stages of life, I specialize in working with children and families. I enjoy helping children who are experiencing overwhelming emotions find their place of calm and control. I also enjoy working alongside parents and caregivers; whether their desire is to understand and relate better to their children, or they are struggling not to lose themselves in the day-to-day rollercoaster that parenting can be.
Through my work, I have seen how powerful and healing play can be to the child. That is why I am currently pursing becoming a Registered Play Therapist. Play is the way the child sees and interprets the world. If we have the desire to help them grow, we must learn to work with them in the way they best understand.
Taking that first step down the road less traveled can be daunting…but you are capable and you are worth it. Sometimes the hardest thing, especially as a parent or caregiver, is putting you first. I encourage you to reach out to me and make an appointment. We can figure out the rest together from there.
