I believe by increasing our understanding of ourselves, we can be better equipped to take on the challenges life throws at us. Emotions are not positive or negative, rather they are guides that help shape our experience. It is not the emotions that cause distress in our life, it is the actions we take. Anger, sadness, anxiety and other powerful emotions can be destructive, but they are human, and learning to embrace them can lead us to achieve great things.
Therapists create a nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, free, and cared about. As a therapist, I facilitate a warm atmosphere to allow sharing, however, I am also action-oriented. Talking and expressing our feelings is not enough, we must take steps to change our behaviors. I will work with clients to identify areas of change and implement a plan for success.
Dorjan has earned his Master’s in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida where he has also earned additional certificates in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as Integrative Mental Health Counseling. He has a passion for helping others and has been working in the helping field since 2004. Dorjan finds great joy in using his education and experience to help individuals improve their lives.
