As an art therapist, I use art making in session for many reasons. Maybe you need to draw while we talk about harder topics. Or we use art to help learn healthy self-expression or even process a trauma. I tailor my art therapy techniques to each individual’s unique needs and comfort level. No need to be an artist or have any experience with art to benefit from art therapy!
Cassandra has worked in a range of places, including schools, hospitals, residential facilities, and crisis stabilization. She has experience with children, adolescents, and adults and has worked with a range of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, ASD, intellectual disability, PTSD and more. In her approach, she draws from from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. Cassandra received her Bachelor’s degrees in studio art and psychology from the University of South Florida and graduated from Florida State University with her Masters degree in Art Therapy. She is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and holds her ATR-P credential for art therapy.
